About This Program
The ZenKids Youth Mindfulness Program empowers youth with tools for lifelong mental wellness through yoga, meditation, and mindfulness practices. Participants engage in guided meditations, breathing exercises, and mindful movements to enhance focus, reduce stress, and foster emotional well-being.
Each session includes movement, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques. Students develop body awareness, flexibility, and strategies for managing stress and emotions. The program integrates STEAM connections — from exploring the physiological effects of mindfulness on brain function to understanding patterns and rhythm in breathing techniques.
Students learn to design mindful spaces that promote calmness and focus, engage in art activities like drawing and journaling that enhance emotional connection, and understand mathematical concepts related to timing and sequences in meditation practices.
Through these practices, participants develop essential mindfulness skills that support a holistic approach to mental wellness, building emotional resilience and a foundation for lifelong well-being.
