About This Program
The Animated Exploration Youth Animation Program introduces students to the exciting world of animation. This hands-on program utilizes iPads to teach the basics of animation, storytelling, and visual design.
Students engage in collaborative storytelling and character creation, collectively developing a story, designing unique characters, and learning basic storyboarding techniques. Each student contributes to the narrative by creating panels representing key elements of the overall story, simulating a studio environment where participants co-create alongside instructors.
The program also includes immersive training opportunities for older students who seek more advanced skills. Programs focused on 3D modeling, 2D animation, and storyboarding using industry-standard tools like Blender and Adobe are available for those interested in deepening their skills.
STEAM connections include exploring the physics of motion and visual effects, familiarizing students with animation software and applications, understanding design principles behind character creation, and applying mathematical concepts in timing sequences and dimensions for animation scenes.
